The Portland City Council Banned the Sale of Foie Gras

After hearing from a coalition of animal advocacy organizations that included PETA, the City Council in Portland, Oregon banned the sale of foie gras in the city, sparing ducks from the immense suffering of being force-fed for this cruel product. This victory wouldn’t have been possible without everyone who spoke up and packed City Hall for abused ducks. Portland joins other major U.S. cities and several countries that have banned the sale or production of cruel foie gras.
