Tennessee OSHA Cites Knoxville Zoo

June 2011 

After the death of an elephant keeper at the Knoxville Zoo, where employees were put in danger by the zoo’s continuing practice of free contact, PETA and other animal rights groups sent complaints to the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA). TOSHA cited and fined the zoo.
