Rent the Runway Bans Fur

Rent the Runway—a mostly online service that rents out 350 high-end designers’ clothing and accessories—banned fur. This compassionate decision comes after more than 155,000 people contacted the company to urge executives to ban fur. We informed the company that fur often comes from animals who spend their entire lives confined to cramped, filthy cages and are killed in horrific ways, such as by gassing or electrocution. Rent the Runway joins hundreds of other companies—including Giorgio Armani, Gucci, and Michael Kors—that use only faux fur.
