PETA India scientists were accepted as members of a critical committee and successfully persuaded the Indian government to update its list of approved tests for drugs manufactured and sold in India. Companies can now use an animal-free test for drug contaminants rather than subjecting rabbits to painful injections, and certain vaccine tests on guinea pigs and mice were eliminated.
