After hearing from PETA that endangered macaques are chained, whipped, and forced into a lifetime of labor picking coconuts in Thailand, national plant-based meal kit delivery company Purple Carrot decided to end its contract with its Thai coconut milk supplier and switch to using coconut milk from the Philippines and Sri Lanka. In thanks, PETA sent the company a Blue Ribbon Award and delicious monkey-shaped vegan chocolates. Purple Carrot ships to all 48 contiguous U.S. states and has a membership of approximately 22,000. Please sign our action alert urging Whole Foods to follow suit and stop supporting monkey labor in the Thai coconut industry.
