The Lawrence County Circuit Court in Alabama dismissed an appeal by Hugo and Franciszka Liebel, who sought to overturn an order that granted custody of Nosey the elephant to a Lawrence County animal control officer. The dismissal means that Nosey remains safe from the people who had chained, exploited, and neglected her for years. At The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, where she has lived since November 2017, she finally gets to enjoy the outdoors, take dust baths, relax in a mud wallow, and roam acres of forests and hills.
