Margate, Florida, Passes Ordinance Restricting Animal Displays

Following a massive public outcry over the cruel Banana Derby at the Broward County Fair, the city of Margate, Florida, adopted an ordinance restricting the display of animals for entertainment and prohibiting the use of federally protected species in such displays.
