Major Flea Market Stops Selling ‘Living Jewelry’!

April 2012

We reached out to the owners of a large flea market in Georgia after a complainant alerted us that fish were being sold as “living jewelry.” The fish were being placed inside tubes so small they couldn’t even turn around, and then the tubes were being hung on a string to be worn around the neck. Thank you to everyone who spoke out and to the owners for their compassionate decision to discontinue these sales!
