Lukoil Discontinues Ringling Promotional Events

In October 2007, PETA fired off a letter to Lukoil’s CEO after learning that some of Lukoil’s gas stations were holding promotional events for notorious animal abuser Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. PETA tried to work with the company behind the scenes to convince it to drop the controversial promotions. On January 22, 2008, just hours after PETA launched a campaign urging our compassionate members and supporters to contact Lukoil, the company called PETA and stated that it would no longer hold any events with Ringling and would not partner with or sponsor the circus in the future.
