Lifeway Announces Support for Polled Breeding

After conversations with PETA, Lifeway—the largest manufacturer of kefir in the U.S.—posted its new policy supporting polled (hornless) breeding, which includes the following: “[W]e believe polled breeding is a viable future option, eliminating the need for dehorning. We ask that strong consideration be given to promoting the polled option as a sustainable alternative to dehorning throughout [the] dairy supply chain.”
