When area residents contacted PETA about a “donkey basketball” game planned at Maine West High School in Des Plaines, Illinois, we wrote to the school’s principal educating her about the cruelty inherent to donkey basketball and asking that the game be replaced with a more humane event. Days before the game was scheduled to take place, PETA got word that it had been canceled!
