PETA Persuades Food Flavors and Colors Manufacturer to End Animal Tests

After discussions with PETA, Milwaukee-based Sensient Technologies Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of flavors and fragrances and the world’s largest manufacturer of certified food colors, has enacted a new policy banning all animal tests that are not required by law. Prior to this, in 2018, Sensient contributed to experiments in which 64 mice were injected with a chemical and fed another chemical that together induced colitis and colorectal cancer. The animals were also force-fed a food additive and then killed and dissected.
