No More Live Reindeer at Camp Abbot Trading Co.

After hearing from PETA about the suffering that reindeer endure in holiday displays, Camp Abbot Trading Co., a hardware store in Oregon, has banned all events with live reindeer and any other animals! Reindeer travel up to 1,000 miles during their annual migration, traversing the tundra and swimming across rivers. But in holiday displays, they’re exploited for photo ops and forced to interact with the public. During the off-season, they’re kept on farms, at rental facilities, or in roadside zoos, where handlers often neglect them and fail to provide them with adequate veterinary care. Now that we’ve achieved this victory, please urge other venues planning to exploit reindeer this holiday season to go animal-free.
