After discussions with PETA, multibillion-dollar, Fortune 500 giant Ball Corporation¬—most famous for the iconic Mason jars it used to manufacture—has stopped funding cruel and deadly experiments on animals. Ball—which is now the world’s largest manufacturer of recyclable metal beverage and food containers and a supplier for Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Budweiser, and other household names—is a top donor to Wings for Life, a charity cofounded by the creator of Red Bull that supports horrific and scientifically unsound spinal cord–injury experiments on animals. Ball’s progressive new policy means that its funds will no longer be used to crush, paralyze, cut open, drug, or electrocute animals in laboratory experiments sponsored by Wings for Life.
