Alexandre Birman to Stop Sourcing Exotic Skins

After meeting with PETA, luxury shoe brand Alexandre Birman confirmed that it will no longer source exotic skins beginning on January 1, 2021. The news follows a ban on exotic skins by PVH, the parent company of Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. Raising and killing exotic animals for “luxury” fashion items can increase the risk of outbreaks of dangerous diseases like COVID-19. Help PETA end the exotic-skins trade by demanding that Hermès stop selling items made from crocodile and alligator skins.
