DuPage County Fairgrounds Bans Non-Fair Events That Use Animals

Under a new lease agreement, the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Illinois has banned events like circuses, rodeos, and petting zoos that use or sell animals! The ban applies to the numerous events held annually at the fairgrounds, with the exception of the county fair. This victory for animals comes after residents spoke at a county board meeting last year about the abuse inherent in such events, following performances by the notoriously cruel Garden Bros. Circus, along with support from PETA for such a ban. Using physical violence and psychological domination to force animals to perform tricks on command is standard practice in circuses and other traveling animal acts. Help achieve victories for animals still suffering in circuses.
