Macerich, Leading Mall Owner and Operator, Adds ‘Dogs in Hot Cars’ PSAs After PETA Outreach

Following outreach from PETA, Macerich—one of the country’s leading owners and operators of retail real estate—added a warning message about leaving dogs in hot cars to digital signage in more than a dozen malls across the U.S., from New York City to Los Angeles. The public service announcements, which run every six minutes, warn shoppers that on a 70-degree day, temperatures inside a parked car can soar to 100 degrees in just minutes.
