Los Angeles Passes Mandatory Spay/Neuter Ordinance

January 2008

In a huge victory in the fight to end our nation’s animal overpopulation crisis, Los Angeles, California, passed a mandatory spay/neuter ordinance. This life-saving legislation was long overdue in a city that takes in an average of 46,000 homeless animals annually. PETA mobilized activists throughout the city to contact their council members and speak in behalf of the bill. Los Angeles’ passage of this ordinance will serve as a shining example for other cities to emulate by implementing Animal Birth Control.
