TELUS Bans the Use of Nonhuman Primates in Its Future Ads

June 2012

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of PETA, TELUS, Canada’s third-largest telecom service provider, agreed to ban the use of nonhuman primates in its future ads. After doing so, TELUS also revised its advertising code of conduct to formally require that it won’t film animal “actors” in a studio setting but rather only animals undisturbed in their habitats at accredited zoos and sanctuaries.
