CEO of Pest-Control Company Bans Drowning

PETA was alerted to allegations that a staff member at one of the largest pest-control companies in the U.S. drowned a skunk who had been cage-trapped. We contacted the CEO about this matter, and he was appalled and immediately addressed allegations with his staff nationwide, ensuring that staff knew that cruel methods of wildlife dispatch wouldn’t be condoned or tolerated. Per his request, we directed him to information about humane control of raccoons, skunks, squirrels, mice, rats, and other animals, as provided on our website. We also specifically urged the company to humanely evict wildlife by using ammonia-soaked rags and then sealing points of entry (in lieu of trapping).
