PETA Funding Helps Launch New Swedish Center to Replace Animal Tests

November 2013

With financial support from PETA, the Swedish Fund for Research Without Animal Experiments successfully lobbied the Swedish government to establish a center to develop and coordinate non-animal testing methods that can be used to meet European Union regulations. Also as a result of the fund’s lobbying, Swedish government agencies must now publish their strategies for replacing animals in experiments and the Swedish cabinet has published a proposal for a chemical testing strategy that promotes the development of new non-animal tests.
