Animals Saved From Cruel Military Medical Drills in Poland

After more than two years of discussions with PETA—and campaigns by PETA and our international affiliates—the Polish military replaced the use of animals in cruel military trauma training exercises with medical simulation technology. This compassionate decision makes Poland the 23rd out of 28 NATO countries to confirm that it does not harm or kill any animals for military drills.

Nearly 30,000 people around the world contacted Polish military officials through online action alerts posted by PETA’s international affiliates urging the country to switch to modern and humane training methods. Polish military officials stated that their decision to stop cutting apart and killing animals was a result of this pressure as well as information that PETA and our international affiliates provided on the benefits of modern human-simulation technology.
