In a compassionate spin on Pennsylvania’s Scooped Ice Cream Trail, PETA is launching its “Nice Cream Trail,” highlighting 10 shops across the state serving up delicious vegan ice cream—and the Philadelphia area has scooped up five spots on the list! From Dreams Ice Cream Factory to Lu & Aug’s, The Main Freeze, Milk Jawn, and Scoop DeVille, Philadelphians have a generous sprinkling of dairy-free delights to choose from. And to make the festivities even sweeter, the first Pennsylvania resident to complete the trail by visiting all 10 participating shops through August will win the cherry on top: a vegan ice cream party with PETA’s famous “iScream” truck for themselves and up to 50 guests.

Philadelphia’s stand-out spots include:

• Dreams Ice Cream Factory at 33 E. Glenside Avenue in Glenside, featuring Chocolate Peanut Butter, Wild Berry, and Vanilla.
• Lu & Aug’s at 28 Rittenhouse Place in Ardmore, where the Vegan Vanilla Soft Serve (and other seasonal flavors) can be topped with vegan marshmallows, strawberry compote, crushed Oreos, and other delectable toppings.
• The Main Freeze at 813 W. Main Street in Lansdale, whose creative flavors include Vanilla Almond Bark, Wild Berry & Chocolate, and Oat Milk Blueberry Pancake.
• Milk Jawn at 1439 E. Passyunk and 946 N. Second Street in Philadelphia, beloved for its Mango Sticky Rice, Tahini Fudge Swirl, Rhubarb Crisp, and Mint Stracciatella.
• Scoop DeVille at 1109 Walnut Street and 538 South Street in Philadelphia, where vegan ice cream flavors are created on the spot, with customer favorites including Philly Samoa Lovin’, Pecan Pie, PB Crunch Time, and Saquon Mint Barkley, along with vegan ice cream cakes, lava cakes, brownies, and more.

PETA’s vegan “iScream” truck has crisscrossed the country, satisfying sweet tooths far and wide by giving away thousands of decadent dairy-free delights, all while bringing attention to the cruel separation of mother cows from their beloved calves in the dairy industry. PETA notes that with an abundance of dairy-free ice creams available today—including decadent vegan flavors from Oatly, Breyer’s, Ben & Jerry’s, and more—it’s never been easier to opt for delicious desserts that let calves stay with their mothers. Other stops on the trail include Honey Bear (Harrisburg), Frio Creamery (Pittsburgh), Lancaster Sweet Shoppe (Lancaster), Vegan Treats (Bethlehem), and Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream (11 Pennsylvania locations). Participating shops will display a window sign and distribute trail maps showing all the sweet stops.

To enter to win an iScream truck party, Pennsylvania residents must visit all 10 Nice Cream Trail shops through August 18, submit photos of their receipts and a brief review of the ice cream they sampled (at least 50 words), and send their submissions to [email protected]. The first eligible entrant to send PETA a winning submission will be selected.
