Aulani and Hawks Cay Resorts Drop Cruel Dolphin Encounters

After hearing from PETA about the suffering endured by dolphins exploited for “swim with” attractions, Aulani—a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii—and Hawks Cay Resort in Florida, have both confirmed that they no longer offer the harmful encounters. Dolphins used for encounters are unable to swim long distances or escape conflicts from other frustrated animals, are forced to perform circus-style tricks, and are harassed by intrusion from strangers’ grabbing hands. Aulani and Hawks Cay join the growing list of companies that have stopped promoting “swim-with dolphins” experiences, including major travel companies Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, and Tripadvisor. Please urge The Kahala Hotel & Resort and Hilton Waikoloa Village to follow the lead of Aulani and Hawks Cay and end their captive dolphin encounters.
