American Airlines Takes Flight With Vegan Scrambled Egg
Exciting news: American Airlines is flying high with a trial of Just Egg, right after it added oat milk creamer to its in-flight menu!
After meeting with PETA and being encouraged by over 140,000 of our supporters, American Airlines added vegan creamer last fall. This year, we worked with Eat Just to send the airline’s team delicious samples of vegan egg to consider as part of their menus. They agreed that their customers should get to try it, too!

As for the chicken- and cow-friendly new menu item—drumroll please … It’s a corn and vegan egg hash made with Just Egg, hash browns, vegan cheese, spinach, corn, and red pepper. YUM!
So, keep your eyes peeled for this tasty vegan brunch item available on select morning flights in premium economy from LAX to JFK. And if your flight doesn’t have it yet, it doesn’t hurt to drop your air carrier a line to let them know you’d love to try it.

The global vegan eggs market reached $1.5 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach $4.5 billion by 2030. As the demand for vegan eggs continues to skyrocket, fewer hens will be forced to suffer at the hands of the egg industry. Most hens raised for eggs spend their lives confined to tiny wire mesh cages, stacked tier upon tier. And don’t let “cage-free,” “pasture-raised,” or other labels fool you. All male chicks in the U.S. egg industry are suffocated or ground up alive because they don’t make eggs. No hen wants to have her beak tip cut off or be mutilated in other ways for her eggs. And no hen wants to be sent to the slaughterhouse or gassed to death when she stops laying enough eggs to be deemed useful to the industry.

Is this any way to treat our fellow animals? Put yourself in the shoes (or feathers) of a hen, or the millions of them used for their eggs each year. When given the chance, hens lovingly tend to and “talk” to their chicks, who chirp back, while still in the shell.
Going vegan is the best way to help hens and other animals. The next time you need to book a flight, why not consider American Airlines and enjoy the new Just Egg meals?
Please leave positive comments on social media thanking American Airlines for adding a vegan dish to their menu, especially if you are an AA frequent flyer/member.
