NIH Launches Animal Test–Free Program That Incorporates PETA’s Recommendations

The National Institutes of Health approved a plan to invest in and study animal-free, human-relevant research methods. Many of the recommendations formally and repeatedly made by PETA were included in the plan, some nearly verbatim. The program is expected to fund $35 million to $40 million a year to “significantly advance understanding of human health and disease.”
