Animals Rescued From Waccatee Zoo Following PETA’s Lawsuit

PETA and The Wild Animal Sanctuary rescued the remaining nine animals—one llama, two North American black bears, and six emus—held at Waccatee Zoo in North Carolina, dubbed “the worst roadside zoo in America” by PETA, following a lawsuit filed against the facility and its operators by us and two concerned citizens. The rescued animals now live at the expansive Wild Animal Refuge in Colorado.
