Easy and Healthy Chocolate Pudding

For those looking to make healthier desserts, you can stop looking right now. Although this pudding recipe is luscious, it’s not loaded with sugar and fat. It’s the perfect dessert for anyone with a little chocolate craving!

It can also be whipped up in a matter of minutes, so share it with friends and family as an after-dinner—or anytime—treat. Enjoy!

Chocolate Pudding
2 avocados
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup agave
2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • Peel the avocados.
  • Put all the ingredients together in a blender or food processor.
  • Blend until creamy.

Makes 2 servings

    I tried this recipe with powdered sugar just because that’s what I have, and it turned out really good. I tried lessening the sugar, but you really can’t because otherwise it just will not taste very good. It tastes, like, watery and bitter. So it’s important you use enough sweetener. I do agree tht it is too much for two servings because it is so rich, but maybe 3 servings instead of four. And I don’t have a blender, so I used a fork, but a blender or food processor would have blended the ingredients better. A fork got the job done, though.

    This was an okay recipe, but I would recommend halving the vanilla extract.

    I agree with Karan. Given the fat content, I would definitely split this into 4 servings. It would probably be a lot healthier to use yacon syrup or brown rice syrup in place of the agave nectar. They are both lower in sugar and calories, yet still provide sweetness. Although agave is a better alternative than cane juice or white sugar, it has still been shown to cause blood sugar spikes in some people. This looks really good though. I will totally be trying this recipe tonight!

    Too funny to see this on here today… I am eating this right now! I added some walnuts and carob chips to the top and 2 tablespoons of almond butter when I blended. It was a hit at work today!

    I’ll bet it tastes great, but I beg to differ on a couple counts .. while avocados are one of the good fats, an entire avocado per serving is pretty fatty. And while I see a lot of recipes using agave syrup as a sweetener like it’s a miracle ingredient, the stuff is highly processed and not much better than using plain white table sugar for one’s health. And a 1/4 cup serving of either is still a whole lot of sweetener. If I were making this, at the very least I’d divvy it up into four smaller servings. It’s pretty rich as a two-serving recipe.
