This cheat sheet is great! Also, out of desperation once i substituted extremely mashed bananas for eggs and it worked great! You just really have to mash them until they are barely bananas anymore…lol.

Love this cheat sheet – so friendly and informative. Definitely going to print it and stick it on the fridge. And good call on the sweetened condensed milk trick…I’ve been trying to perfect that for some time now!

@maureen Johnson If you check out the infographic above, you will see egg replacements such as: pureed soft tofu, Ener-G egg replacer, and instant mashed potatoes. Applesauce works well, too!

I’ve been vegetarian on and off for 15 years. But I’ve never tried going vegan. This may sound elementary. But what do you use in place of eggs in recipes? Are bananas the only option?

This is all great information! My 14yr old daughter and I have committed to try going vegan for a period of 6 weeks. Why???? its not rocket science! Health, environment, animal treatment…etc. We recently watched a mini documentary called Vegucated. It was very informational and disturbing at the same time. We both cried at the horrifying treatment of animals and laughed at the everyday struggles that we new we would also soon face. We have a family of 8 and I am not forcing anyone to become vegan or watch documentaries, but I do feel as the “mom” i get to prepare all the meals so i’ll be doing some sneaky recipe cooking!! Wish us luck!

Hey. I have just a quick question. I’m vegan for quite a while now and I’ve started with baking recently. My problem is the taste. I don’t want to use too much sugar and dates just don’t work for me. Do you have any substitution for that? Cheers
