Top Five Reasons Only Stupid Girls Brag About Eating Meat

Written by PETA | June 16, 2008

jessica-simpson-real-girls-eat-meat.jpgThe photo speaks for itself. OK, OK, I may have doctored it a bit to get the point across, but COME ON! As you can see, Jessica Simpson was recently caught wearing a “Real Girls Eat Meat” T-shirt. Puhleeze!

For a gal who’s best known for her less-than-stellar brains (Chicken of the Sea, anyone?) and her ability to proportionately fill out daisy dukes, I’m gonna go on record saying that if anyone had to wear a ridiculous shirt like this, I’m glad it was Jessica—as people are more likely to follow the opposite of her lead … ya know, since she’s so well respected and all (yes, that was difficult to type without tossing in a hefty LOL). Maybe the meat-eaters of the world will be embarrassed to be categorized in the same field as Jessica Simpson. Ecorazzi has more on the story.

Just for funsies, here are the top five reasons that only stupid girls brag about eating meat:

1. Meat increases the risk of breast cancer. A 2007 study of 35,000 women published in the British Journal of Cancer found that women who ate meat were far more likely to develop breast cancer than women who consumed none. Will Jessica’s next t-shirt will say, “Real Girls Smoke 3 Packs a Day”?2. Real girls don’t support animal abuse. Compassion is super sexy, if the huge number of hot celebs ditching meat is any indication. Young women turn vegetarian in droves when they learn that the meat industry cuts the sensitive beaks off newborn chicks and cuts off the tails of baby piglets.3. The meat industry is destroying the Earth. The only thing that’s hot about the meat industry is that it’s toasting the planet. According to the United Nations, raising animals for food causes more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, trucks, SUVs, planes, and ships in the world combined. 4. Meat will make you fat. All the saturated fat and cholesterol in chicken wings, pork chops, and steak eventually leads to flabby thighs and love handles. I hope the upcoming “Jessica Simpson’s Intimates” line comes in plus sizes! Going vegetarian is the best way to get slim and stay that way. 5. Eating meat steals food from starving kids. Jessica’s trip to help kids in Africa got a lot of media buzz, but by gnawing on meat, she’s essentially stealing food from the mouths of starving children since it takes up to 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of meat. If more people went vegetarian, we’d free up enough grain to feed every person in the world. —ChristinePosted by Christine Dore

nightnurse June 23 2008 0350 PM You don’t like it skip it. And you and your attitude can bite my butt. You are just afraid that if someone comes at you with actual facts helping to provide information on a side you don’t participate on that you won’t be able to make yourself look better than everyone else. As for my ego I never said I was better than anyone. Go suck a soybean. Hettie G.

  • Holly says:

Plant Foods Provide Nutritional Building Blocks to Optimum Health To understand why this program is the most powerful form of medicine you must start with the recognition that plant foods are the most abundant sources of nutrition on earth. Animal foods don’t even come close in comparison. And despite what you’ve been told animal foods are not essential sources of minerals calcium protein amino acids vitamins or essential fats. Hettie G. It has been nice to meet you and it was very nice of you to stop by. However your posting has become old hat and boring not informative or educational. Sorry but I along with many others here will no longer read your posts. Enjoy your day now and your over inflated ego.

  • Hettie G. says:

To Nicole June 23 2008 0139 PM Carrie Underwood is overrated in the pop culture. So is jessica Simpson for that matter. The fact that she went veg for the sake of popularity is just that. Her career went down the toilet so she reached out to whoever was left. The shirt isn’t a stab at someone else it’s just a tawdry cheap joke about sex and cock. Get over your fanaticness about Carrie. Jeez. I’m sick of seeing the same post. Hettie G.

  • Hettie G. says:

To Antigone1000 June 23 2008 1106 AM I’m done with you. You skim my posts and just don’t read the things and you just are trying to make it look like I am saying one thing when I’m not and trying to make it look like I don’t know when it’s YOU who doesn’t understand…if you would actually READ the posts it’d be one thing. I’m done with you and your ignorance…I have stated over and over again…I KNOW they are different…if you would have read the post I STATED that the post was pertainging to mostly vegans. MY point was that as yes VEGETARIANS have stated on this post and as is their REASON for going vegetarian cruelty to animals they in turn are being hypocrites. To ME vegetarians are posers whereas a vegan actually does what they should when choosing to not eat meat for the reason of cruelty to animals. READ THE POST BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH! So if you still can’t get it I’m done talking to you. Now…. To Ann June 22 2008 1240 PM I watch the news and this actually made the news. I am a meat eater but I support PETA’s ACTUAL message about cruelty to animals. As stated a billion times I do eat meat but I think it can be more humanely done. So when I saw that someone at PETA actually made a DEAL about a stupid shirt and then proceeded to make themselves look like an ass I decided it couldn’t possibly be true and I wanted to check it out. And I don’t bash vegetarians I just bash people who think they know it all without the proper facts and the people who try and say something to the masses that in itself is completely untrue ergo the original post. Once again YOU are not the PETA spokesperson nor the doorkeeper. YOU cannot tell anyone to not come here regarless of the eating and dietary habits. YOU cannot tell ME what to do anywhere or anytime and honestly expect me to do it. You aren’t my mom. And half the time I don’t do as she advises either. And some meat eaters on this site have said some derrogatory thins to veggie eaters but they are dumb for bashing just for hat you eat same goes for vegetariansvegans on this site. I think okay. chose what you want no problem. My main reason for all my posts is that a lot of people on here are illinformed and are getting the wrong information. Not all meat eaters are pro animal cruelty. That is a bogus statement and a superficail stereotype as equal as saying all black people are ‘gangsta’ all mexicans are dirty and all homosexuals are immoral. THAT is prejudice. THAT is a stupid comment and you should feel ashamed. To Mike Quinoa June 21 2008 1237 PM Yeah I knew the first one was old that’s why I warned ya! lol and I knew they were both in the Alaskan Terrain but in the USA everything is so easily attainable and there’s really no forest or wilderness to get lost in for such a long time. Plus we have an extensive search parties and technology available in the US. Also with a high meat diet any and everyone would not be healthy. You need vegetables. But you need meat. With the lack of vegetation they mostly eat meats. Their health studies wouldn’t be really useful when comparing to the US where vegetation is sold uber cheap in every store. I think the key to being healthy is small portions of everything with it all balanced meat and veggie alike combined with excersise. Hettie G.

  • Nicole says:

Jessica is just advertising how incredibly insecure she is about Carrie Underwood and what a caring sensitive person Carrie is that she is trying to stir up some fans any way she can. She has zero talent mentally and spiritually.

  • Van says:

PETA Why can’t you people stop shoving your agenda down people’s throats. The only people that would be affected by your silly liststatistics are insecure girls with bad body images apparently you don’t give a damn about woman and their bad body images. Do you realize how much it harms the environment to run enough computers to keep you on the internet? Don’t pretend you care about the people or even the animals you preach for when I know all of you drive cars. Don’t you realize you catch more flies when honey than vinegar? The huffy attitudes in your writings and celebrity bashing make you look like the bad guys. Why not nicely post reasons why a being a vegetarian is good for personal health without using gutter trash talking.

  • Holly says:

Well said and very true Antigone 1000! Wonderful posts full of truth and wisdom! Mike Quinoa Great examples and web sites! Go Vegan save up to 100 farm animals per year per person! Go Vegan!

  • Mike Quinoa says:

Beth The American Dietetic Association begs to differ with your “valid” point. The ADA is a professional society that represents the interests of over 70000 registered dietitians. In creating their position paper on vegetarianism they cited over 250 studies. Their conclusion…? “It is the position of the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada that appropriately planned vegetarian diets are healthful nutritionally adequate and provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases….Wellplanned vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the lifecycle including during pregnancy lactation infancy childhood and adolescence.” As published in PubMed Athletes like Ruth Heidrich also debunk the myth that you can’t be healthy on a veg diet ” Ive got over 800 firstplace trophies from all the races Ive doneall since the diagnosis of cancer and all since changing to my vegan lowfat diet!” Under the guidance of Dr. John McDougall she adopted a vegan diet to keep her breast cancer in check

  • Antigone1000 says:

Greg Animals left on their own would not breed to the extent that we breed them for our use. Alsobefore we concern ourselves about the “overbreeding” of any other species we need to look at our own. We really need to wake up and look at the number and quality of people being added to this earth. I don’t think anyone should be prohibited from having a child but I have never met one single person that was so great that he needed to add more than one or two children to the planet. If you want a large family have a couple kids of your own then adopt. Unles we control our own population we will have far bigger problems than being overrun by cows.

  • Antigone1000 says:

Beth Actually I have eaten no meatfishchicken for 16+ years and I am in such good shape from working out too that other women always want diet and exercise advice from me. So yes you can be healthy nonanemic without meat. I never take additional supplementsnutrients either as I do not need to. You may have other issues that should warrant going to a doctor though.

  • Antigone1000 says:

Hettie G Againyou are clueless. Vegans and vegetarians are NOT the same by a long shot. I am a VEGAN so avoid those things that you tell me I use. I also don’t take “supplements” because as someone who HAS lived on vegetation for 16+ years now I KNOW that it can be done. I also KNOW that children can be raised vegan. The only arguments against it are promulgated directly or indirectly by the meat and dairy industries because they make money at the expense of the health of naive people like you. Soeat what you want but don’t look to animal research to cure the heart disease high cholesterol cancer and other diseases you will get from it. Don’t look to insurance to spread the cost of your medications to those of us who actually eat right and exercise and live a healthy style. If you want to choose to eat meat then be willing to die for your choice without inconveniencing the rest of us. If you really want to learn something check out the PCRM website for an UNBIASED i.e. nonmeatdairy industry opinion on a veg diet.

Its just a tshirt for goodness sake! stop being mean you sound like a 15 year old high school bully. Sarcastic comments and bitchy putdowns are more of a turnoff than eating meat! You want to prove a point? then do it by sticking up for what you believe in without resorting to attacking other people. I’m not a vegetarian but i only eat meat chosen carefully so that i know its been produced in a humane and eco friendly way. Because funnily enough that is possible. And while all of you lot carry on not eating meat i stave off turning aneamic and stay healthy and full of vitality by getting ALL of the nutrients i need which you can’t even supplements aren’t ever as good as the real thing get from being just plain vegetarian. I hope you understand my very valid point!

  • kayla says:

wow I’d rather be a weightgaining carnivore than a vegetarian asshhole. I came to this website to check out info about helping out animals I’m not really interested in reading catty gossip about someone who dared to express a different opinion than your own.

  • Piroska says:

I would like to know more information on the “eating meat causes cancer” study as that is something I had never heard of? All you state is “A 2007 study of 35000 women published in the British Journal of Cancer found that women who ate meat were far more likely to develop breast cancer than women who consumed none. ” Who authored this study scientists’ names and credentials I mean what was the actual number that you translate as “far more” likely what was the age range of the women whether they were testing all meat or excluding things like fish we all know red meat’s the worst for health right?. I’m just curious and as a not just compassionate but healthconscious young woman would like to see a lot more details on this?

Kirsten’s comment animals .. ‘god put them here for a reason’ yawn.. yawn.. zzzzzzz sure yeah.. and ‘pigs can fly’ and not to mention the ‘cow jumped over the moon’.. I don’t suppose he particularly put animals here on earth to be abused so terribly suffer so horrendously by these humans too.. in vivisection factory farming.. fur blood sports animal fighting.. the list is ENDLESS.. so why follow one code of practise but ignore the other?.. or maybe he was a cruel and couldn’t care less God about terrible and relentless suffering of animals ?? evidently just so as long as it suits yourself.. or the human race.. to be glaringly blatently obvious .. it really has nothing to do with ‘God’ has it?.. glaringly and evidently not !!

  • yvonne says:

will people pls stop using ‘God’ as an excuse as to ‘why’ animals are here.. ie. to be eaten.. if there really was a ‘God’ where is there so much profuse abuse and suffering in the world both to humans AND animals.. ps. it’s always the humans that hurt abuse harm and kill the animals not the other way around.. horrid horrid humans dont’ say he planned or prepared for that too!! give your reasons for or against meat eating.. but quit using this lame Bible excuse of reason for ‘why animals are here’.. ps.. in any case.. who can verify ‘who wrote the bible anyway’ could be all merely be a book of fiction.. now I don’t want to start another religious argument here.. whether fact or fiction the Bible.. suffice to say it’s gettin’ kind of boring hearing that same old reason or excuse.. oh sure and the animals went into the Ark ‘two by two’ as well .. and where specifically in the Bible does it say.. thou shall eat mostly and mainly cow pig and chicken.. do avoid other meats such as horse buffalo giraffe hippopotamus rhinocerus ostrich donkey meat.. you see.. all a load of mumbo jumbo..

  • bet says:

your comment … horror in the animals eyes as they go to meet their horrific deaths.. and see how she feels afterwards.. still feel like lots and lots of meat? huh?.. aahahahahahhahahahahah dude if you showed me that i’d be hungrier answer.. that’s becuase you in your chest cavity.. it’s hollow and rotten to the core .. you’re selfish and only care about yourself.. p.s. you’re on the wrong website.. you obviously dont’ give a damn about animals .. it’s times like this I feel it’s a pity people aren’t cannabilistic and someone should carve YOU up and relishly savour every morsel of your flesh and gobble you up too.. or see you hang by your rear leg on some shank bleeding profusely out of your carved open neck.. yes. see how you would feel.. and then after they relish more .. and laugh ahh haha haaa haaaa!! now that really really would ! be funny .. dont’ you think??

  • Annalena says:

Daniel just because something is legal does not make it right. And just because you can does not mean you should. Would you think it is wrong to dominate and control the weaker and disabled members of our society? Your logic means that the pursuit of domination simply for the sake of it is justified. As for legality in many regions of the world abuse is legal. I suppose that I can kill and use those who are defenseless because I am stronger and have the upper hand.Pornography is legal in which people especially women are degraded endlessly. What is the problem people have been objectifying women for ages? The problem is we should not inflict pain and torment on living beings if it can be helped.I suppose dictators of the past were right because they were simply exercising their strength. I suppose all of the people that Stalin killed should have found a way to survive or escape but they did not because they were “weak”. Can I sneak up behind you and kill you steal all of your things just because I can and people have been killing one another for ages?I suppose you also agree with slavery and sexism?

  • Tasha says:

It is ridiculous to me to see everyone’s comments. The shirt was worn to make a statement about Tony Romo’s exgirlfriend. Obviously PETA doesn’t have anything better to do than make up stupid rules for a washed up pop star. Maybe they should be spending some of that money on the starving kids in Africa.

  • Ann says:

First of all I believe in free speech. I may not agree with you but I believe you have the right to say it. Yes I am a Vegetarian and have been for 17 years and PROUDLY so. But I do have several questions for people reading this blog. 1. WHY in the world are MEAT EATERS and people who are pro animal cruelty reading PETA’s blog??? What? You have nothing better to do with your time??? 2. WHY do vegetarians ALWAYS have to be tolerant of meat eaters but meat eaters NEVER have to tolerant of vegetarians??? Can anyone answer that question?

  • LISA says:

Ok first of all it’s a freakin shirt people get over it!!! you don’t like meat well good for you. second of all im a meat eater and almost everyone i know is a meat eater as well and we don’t judge vegitarians so what gives you all the right to judge meat eaters. so like i said get over it and stop acting like babies!

  • chelsea says:

i agree with jessica! where can i buy this shirt?

  • Joe says:

I think you all are Jealous. Quit hating on America and trying to take away our freedoms. Jessica’s hot and you’re not. I have met too many over weight people that are vegetarians. We can really save the planet by getting rid of communism socialism and terrorism like the U.S. has done in the past. They are the ones taking the grain from people who need it. Besides We have been eating meat for thousands of years. That is what its there for da.

  • josh says:

mmm meat i love eating meat but u vegitarians can enjoy all that green shit while i happily eat my meat mmm i love eating animals especially since they were put here for our use and since im on top of the food chain as well

  • jessica simpson says:

she means penis not meat like real girls suck cock its a knock on lesbians not animals

  • Holly says:

A calf is born and taken away from its mother so you can drink the baby’s milk. Any of you woman who have ever had a baby know how awful it would be if someone took your new born baby away from you. Its a mothers instinct to want her baby. The mother cow calls and calls for her baby. Baby’s call and call for their mothers. It is so sad to hear their cries. The milking machine takes her baby’s milk so you can drink it. lots of sadness behind each glass of milk you drink. If the calf is a male it is put into a small area usually alone and up fed a diet that makes the calf anemic so its meat will be light in color and tender when it is killed as a veal calf so you eat baby calf’s flesh. All this so you can drink a glass of milk and eat some baby calf. This process is repeated until the poor Mother milking cow can no longer produce enough milk then she is shipped in a large truck with many other cows some times all the way across country and often with out stopping the truck to let them out to feed or water them. After all it really does not matter they are being sent to slaughter right? This is awful for the cows and they are hot and frightened cramped and some times they fall and are stepped on by the other cows and bones are broken. The truck drivers dont care the cows are going to slaughter… Once at the slaughter house the cows story becomes so awful I cant bring my self to talk about it. But to say Please go Vegan and save up to 100 farm animals a year per person… It is a choice intelligent people can and do make every day for their health for the animals and for the earth. so can YOU… Go Vegan…

  • Saturna says:

If I remember correctly the Tshirt was meant as a jab Carrie Underweight er…Underwood. Like the writer said. I’m glad it was HEr of all people out there embarrassing herself. I’d expect nothing less from that air head.

  • greg says:

Has anyone ever thought of the fact that if animals weren’t killed we’d be overrun by them? Saying that raising animals for food increases greenhouse gas may be truebut if we didn’t kill them wouldnt there be more animals running around increasing greenhouse gas even more?

  • Holly says:

Life is a wonderful! I personally love life enough to know that I do not want to be part of snatching a precious life out of any young teenaged adult or old animal for their flesh for my sake. The most precious thing we have is our life. How can anyone think it is ok to steal life from any living animal for any reason when you love your own life and know how precious life is? Most animals are killed in the prime of their life and younger used up so you who are perfectly capable of eating a variety of wonderful foods that do no harm can satisfy your lust for their flesh. To chew and know your chewing up a dead animal who was tortured and murdered just for you! Life snatched away in a time when we know better makes no sense. Please Go Vegan and save up to 100 farm animals per person a year! Go Vegan!!!

  • MMC says:

Lets get real here people. She probably could barely read the shirt let alone understand its meaning! Cut her some slack she was probably “thinking” term used very loosely about her little sister and how successful she is. Then she realized the only person commenting on her is her dad. But don’t worry Jess he LOVES your DDs…

  • Lisa says:

The PeTa blogger is an yet another example of intolerance lack of compassion and idiocy. Oh did I mention selfrighteousness? I want one of those tshirts just to annoy people like her.

  • Ashley B. says:

Cmon now Jessica. When you think she could not be any more stupid than shes provedyou see something like this. She has to know she is going to get attacked by this Its a cute stunt by an insecure girl who is upset because her Boyfriends Last girlfriendself proclaimed vegetarian Carrie Underwoodis more popular and people think is hotter. Maybe she should realize that REAL GIRLS dont fake stupid to get ratings on a Newlywed Show that was doomed from the start because the girl couldnt attempt to make her marriage work. Cmon Jessica grow up youre in your 20s not your teens Youre going to lose a LOT of fans over this Grrr…Maybe her weight wouldn’t fluctuate so much if she was a vegetarian with the rest of us…and believe me Jessicawe’re REAL women…women who stand up for what we believe in…

  • Mike Quinoa says:

Hettie Thanks for the links. Your first link is pretty old story is circa 1913. It refers to the far northnot a location exactly brimming with “lush vegetation.” Your link to Chris McCandless indicates he died of starvation in Alaska once again minimal edible plant life. The Inuit in the far north depend primarily on meat to survive since the plant life there is so sparse or inedible. This dependence on animal protein creates an acidic state in their blood. This acidic state must be neutralized with the absorption of calcium from their bones with the subsequent thinning of the skeleton. “The Inuit Eskimo have the highest osteoporosis rates in the world. In a study of 217 children 89 adults and 107 elderly Inuit in Alaska researchers found that they had lower bone mineral content onset of bone loss at an earlier age and development of bone thinning with a greater intensity than white Americans. The scientists attributed the greater degeneration to the acidic effects of the Inuit’s high meat diet.” The countries that partake in the most meat and dairy also suffer the highest rates of osteoporosis due to the acquisition of calcium from the bones to buffer the blood’s overacidic pH. To all the meateaters out there who complain incessantly about PETA PETA is an organization that promotes animal rights and vegetarianism as I’m sure you are well aware. They are not forcing anyone to quit eating meat please tell your story if you feel you’ve been “forced” to give up meat. Everybody is entitled to their opinion and welcome to post here but noone is being forced to be here. If PETA bugs you that much there are a million other sites you can occupy your time with.

  • Hettie G. says:

To Antigone1000 June 21 2008 0203 AM You should actually READ the post. In the FIRST LINE it states and I quote “By follwing the idea that animals have rights and therefore we should not use any animal products or byproducts….” That line which has been slammed at all meat eaters by VEGETARIANS and vegans alikeabout not using or eating meat products or by products is what I was addressing. A vegetarian is a vegetarian is a vegetarian as far as I see it. Vegan is just a term I see as over compensating. All the I am saying is that people keep on talking about the RAPE and MURDER of of cows when they still use all that crap. Being a ‘compassionate’ and ‘caring’ vegetarian I think you shouldn’t open your mouth to try and talk when you still have to brush your teeth with the toothpaste that was made from the MURDERED cow…or the bisuits you eat are made with animal fats or the cakes and pies…animal animal animal. Or vitamin capsules for the supplements that ahem will probably be needed due to some mineral deficiency you wil have to suffer they contain gelatin…Made from a DEAD ANIMAL. So how about you actualy use that brain of yours and read the CONTEXT fo which the text was written. And the comment about ‘acting’ like I know something I have admitted when something I say could possibly be wrong and suggested further research for the rest it IS researched and to my knowledge factual. I admit I don’t have a PhD but that’s alright with me because OBVIOUSLY I’m not the only one. And neither are you. As for the comment that I am ‘selfish’ and ‘man can live on vegetation alone’ I’ll refer you to this link httpwww.iht.comarticles20070521opinionedplanck.php Since you say I don’t know what I’m taling about here have some fun learning so you can better YOUR knowledge. efusal to do so shows your ignorance and fear of being wrong. Note This mainly mentions vegans but as I said earlier…It’s the same thing basically. Vegans are just a real vegetarian. Vegetarians complain about eating meat kills the animals while they use animal made byproducts. Vegans go the extra mile to cut it all out all together…But read the article. It’s great. But read the text in the context it is written.. Read the whole thing like I did. Sure a fully grown and developed person can chose to live in a veganvegetarianno matter what my thinking is on the subject lifelifestyle and survivealthough you would need to eat a lot of the veggies to get what you need howevera post mentioned something like this earlier so this is to you as well as the rest children cannot be raised on it. They have to be raised on a normal healthy meatlikecan’t think of a word sorry diet in order to develop and grow correctly. Vegetarianism should be a personal choice. You shouldn’t force it on people and certainly not children. Read the text put on here before you open you mouth and get typerhappy and try to sound smart. Research your words. Google is NOT that hard. Now bug off. Hettie G.

  • Joanie says:

Lisa I agree. Of the several vegetarians I know none of them are as petty and defensive as most of the people here. If everyone is so determined to stop the hurting of animals why are they all wasting time commenting on an article about Jessica Simpson instead of something a bit more productive. This is why there is such a rift between omnivores and vegetarians everyone is trying so hard to prove the other one wrong that everyone loses including starving children AND the animals.

  • Jen says:

Nice article. Not. Am really freaking angry with this ‘article’ responding to Jessica Simpson’s tshirt. Oh sexism and misogyny how appropriate for a company who treats women like slabs of meat in their activist campaigns. I’m a vegetarian but I don’t support PETA’s exploitation of women for their own gain. Want to criticise Jessica Simpson’s shirt? Fine. But don’t do it with the stupid blonde jokes or the ‘go vegetarian or otherwise you will get fat’ lines. It’s alienating offensive and downright stoopid.

  • Cheryl says:

I don’t know why people have to be so childish overly indignant about a Tshirt worn by some brainless pop star. If you think she’s so dumb why even bother analyzing what her Tshirt proclaims? And as for all those reasons against eating meat…you MAY have a point but the line “real girls eat meat” is really more like an exercise in trying to sound smart witty cute than an actual offense to PETA or vegetarians vegans in general. There are vegetarians vegans there are meat eaters. If we don’t criticize you for choosing not to eat meat then lay off the meatbashing. It’s a dietary choice not a second Holocaust no offense to Jews or Germans. Making a mountain out of a molehill is never a good idea especially a molehill as puny as this one.

  • Antigone1000 says:

Hettie G People who do as you suggest are “vegans” not “vegetarians.” Perhaps you should actually KNOW what you’re talking about before you act as though you do. And yes man CAN live on vegetation aloneYOU just selfishly choose not to.

  • Rachael says:

Sorry to say but choosing to eat meat or not is ones personal choice. Bashing someone for their choice which ever it is is more sleazy than her shirt. I strongly disagree with many of the ways PETA delivers their messages. Scare tactics and crude bashing are not what I would call compassionate by any means. Open your own eyes PETA. It is the only way you can get others to see through you.

  • Leila says:

Well if you are going to publish an article at least tell the truth. Meat makes you fat? not really unless you eat like a cow sorry don’t mean to offend by using an animal as an example.. also of course one will get fat if they eat meat and fatty foods all the time without exercise. and big deal she is a meat eater.. get over it.. more than half of the world eats meat. i just love how when it is a celebrity people blow everything out of proportion..

  • Kristen says:

I dont understand the difference in raising animals for meat or just letting them live… there will be the same amount of animals producing bad gas emissions if they all stayed or some died for meat and more were born….. just dont think that is a good point on this topic. Dont get me wrong but i eat meat and all but we butcher our own beefporkchicken they are not neglected or abused its just god put them here for a reason and let me tell you it is a tasty one. Humans are the top of the food chain for a reason.

  • JimboBillyBob says:

And now for the real reason JS wore the shirt. It was a dig on Tony Romo’s former girlfriend Carrie Underwood who is acan you guess vegetarian!

  • Jennifer says:

I commend Jessica she has a right to her free speech.

  • Maria says:

I would like to bring up the fact that it’s not the whole farming industry that is being cruel to animals. There are still the independent farmers that aren’t torturing them. They humanely kill the animals. the animal doesn’t die a slow and painful death if done correctly the quickly die. Also what about milk? With the corporate farms they hook them onto machines and milk them 247. If you buy organic milk and meat the animal is treated with respect and care. Also in Native tribes when they consume meat they pray to the gods and thank them for giving their life up for them to eat. While we are on the subject of respect how respectful is it to mock someone who happen to like to eat meat. What if she wore the shirt because she thought it was funny…I would. Why must you impose your beliefs on others. I have absolutely no problem with people sitting down and talking. Why not nicely have a convo with your meateating friends and tell them why they shouldn’t eat meat. Or better yet wait for them to ask you why you don’t. When I see PETA videos I am more likely to go eat meat. I tend to do the opposite of what people say when they push their beliefs on others. I think that those videos make you feel extremely guilty. It’s just like with the religious right. They want you to do want they want and make people feel like crap along the way. When that i the point of Christianity. I think you are no better of a person for eating meat than if you don’t and vice versa. If you make a conscious decision to eat more organic meat and dairy I think it is fine.

Hmm yes. You don’t agree with her so call her a dumb fat slut. That’s both mature and logical. This well reasoned argument is sure to convert a lot of people to your way of thinking. Please don’t be on my side. You’re making my side look bad.

Just listening to everyone that wants the USA to stop doing everything is crazy. The other countries are not cutting back on any of the things the tree huggers want us to do. It is like Al Gore telling us about global warming when the earth has been cooling. Eat in portions and cut out the snacks. Before long we will have the government telling us what we can eat.
