‘Superman’ Is Vegan

Written by PETA | November 27, 2009

Update: Our vegan Ultra champion did it again. Rich Roll finished seventh in the race on Sunday. Despite a bad accident on his bike on Saturday during challenging weather conditions and even with an injured knee, he did the 52-mile run in 7:51. Amazing. Congrats, Rich!

It’s Fur-Free Friday, and we’re all about spreading joy and good cheer on one of the most compassionate days of the year. In the spirit of the season, we’d like to wish vegan athlete Rich Roll the best of luck as he begins his Ultraman race.

Recently named one of the “25 Fittest Guys in the World” by Men’s Fitness, Roll is poised to dominate the competition at the invitation-only Ultraman competition, which includes a 6.2-mile swim, 261.4-mile cross-country bike ride, and 52.4-mile run.

His cruelty-free diet guarantees abounding strength and energy, and if you don’t want to take my word for it, check out our exclusive new interview with the humane superman:

It is FANTASTIC that you are featuring a Vegan and there is great benefit as well as importance to the positive environmental health effects a Vegan lifestyle has however the MORAL and ETHICAL aspects are the most important.I understand that you Peta are attempting to appeal to a society that is lacking in morals in ethics in a plethora of ways but you will never enlighten or inspire this society is you don’t provide them with the insight of the moral ethical aspects of Veganisim and animal rights in fact if you cater to the avoidable and ignorance of a society than you are perpetuating the problems of that. Please consider focusing on the main reasons any one should be Vegan and that is because non humans have feelings a soul a mind they form family bonds and they like all humans have a right to live lives that are free from torment torture imprisonment neglect abuse and murder. Please stop aiding in making Vegan either a dirty word or a life style choice based solely for environmental and health reasons. If you keep secret about the fact that non humans are feeling beings who deserve our respect and care than you loose your right to complain about how they are so so so mistreated and disrespected and one who keeps silent about an injustice is just as bad if not worse than the one who is committing the injustice.
