It’s that time of year again, when it starts to get a little bit colder and you can spot a select few of Hollywood’s trashiest celebrities strutting around with dead animals strapped to their backs. At PETA, we have far too much tact to name any of these people personally, but we would like to send a general message to all celebrities to please just think hard and search your conscience before you consider buying fur. OK, just kidding, we have a list. Here it is:

PETA’s Official 2006 ‘Worst Dressed’ List:

  1. Nicole Richie: This pelt-wearing party girl is all animal skin and bones. She’s an incredible shrinking woman with the heart to match.
  2. Ashley Olsen: Wearing fur does add 20 pounds, but if Ashley wants to fill out her frame, we suggest using a fork instead.
  3. Christina Ricci: Disregarding the holiday season’s “Peace on Earth” message, Ricci recently posed for a magazine cover wearing fur from slaughtered reindeer. At least she’s not into fur hats: Imagine how many more pelts it would take to cover that forehead.
  4. Eva Longoria: You’d think she’d be more sympathetic to the plight of rabbits considering the way she screws around like one on Wisteria Lane.

You can vote for the number-one worst-dressed celebrity here. Notable absences from the list are Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, both of whom have made some attempts to ditch the fur from their wardrobes this year—so here’s hoping they remember their resolution.

In the meantime, here’s Nicole and Ashley!

And finally, in case the pictures of Nicole Richie and Ashley Olson looking like they just got finished robbing graves at a pet cemetery aren’t enough to convince you not to wear fur, check this out:

oh good they took christina out of their see she would never mean to wear fur or hurt anyone bye wearing fur. woe too the people from peta hurrah justice has been served

  • John Wright says:

I have lived in Hong Kong for 26 years where a few country people still illegally eat dogs believing the meat to be a winter warmer or even more stupidly an aphrodisiac. Mercifully this is becoming more uncommon in Hong Kong but all of us know of the “animal streets” in mainland Chinese cities where domestic and wild animals are trussed up alive in the most excrutiating agony awaiting slaughter for the pot by the cruelest methods. I am well aware of the ignorance callousness and indifferent cruelty towards animals in the mainland. The only way to curb this filthy trade is to publicly shame the Chinese Government into acting decisively. They won’t like what they will see as an affront to Chinese pride and will deny and discedit those who expose them but a determinated worldwide publicity campaign may work. Ultimately the only lasting solution is to make these people look hard at themselves in the mirror and make them realise that their conceit of being a great civilisation is nothing more than a charade and a lie until they learn how to treat all living creatures with respect.

  • Amanda says:

If your against killing of animals how dose killing humans make it anymore right? Hurting another human who has more complex feelings i think is worse!

  • Tyler says:

You’ll have better luck influencing people if you provide a message that doesn’t include cheap personal attacks. Lead by example. Hate only leads to more hate.

  • Mariah says:

This is a horrible thing to do to animals. i wish these people wuld get killed the same way these poor innocent people did. I hate chinese fur farms and always will!!

  • Jac says:

Wow what a wild difference in opinions here. First why give a flying duckshit about celebrities? They make their own choices like everyone else. Second whatever your view of God all creatures great and small are absolutely worthy of respect and kindness just as fellow humans who really are animals too just with a bigger apparently brain and a thumb. Third I didnt watch the vid reading the commentary was enough to make me cry and like missM the image would end up engrained in my psyhce forever…my understanding is that these evil beings dont use bullets as it ‘costs too much money’ hhmm. Either way I dont know what condtions brought these inhumans to commit such revolting acts against nature and her creatures but I am 100 confident that no matter how poor desperate or hungry I could get nothing would EVER make me do such things to earn a dollar I would rather die starving.

  • missM says:

I didn’t watch the video because the images wouldn’t leave my mind for several decades however I support PETA and its efforts to enlighten the public about the “different side” of how and were our furs and various animal products come from. For previous comments about God placing animals on this Earth to serve humans I tend to agree that animals are here to assist us in certain tasks more so a couple hundred years ago than the present day. I don’t believe that we have the right to put animals through such cruelty and misery. I don’t think it’s just rich people that have a problem with GREED it’s a desease that plagues each an one of us some more than others. The best way for each of us that support PETA is to pass the information on to others. The more people that are exposed to the raw realitythe better chance we have in making changes.

  • Kumv says:

I support PETA and am strictly vegetarian. All those saying that animals do not feel pain I have a question how do you know that a 6 month old human baby feels pain??? Does that give you the right to torture infants ???

  • Laura says:

PETA has always been extremist and poignant in getting their message out there. It’s what they have to do. When advocacy organizations are polite they unfortunately don’t get much attention. Good for PETA. I support everything they do because someone’s got to stick up for animal rights and they do it in a big way. I hope these celebrities learn something from this and use their fame for more positive objectives including or excluding animals.

  • Jens says:

Go Peta! rich ppl are sick! especialy famous ones I hope they all go to hell.

  • matt says:

were to begin. well i didnt get to see the video but based on the first 15 responsesthe only ones i read it apears that its of an animal being skined alive. sounds like another stunt to me. have you ever held a pissed of raccoon before. trust me skinning it wouldnt be easy. in reallity people kill animals before there skinned. i dont wear fur. i wouldnt every wear fur. but i do have experiance with animals enough to know that theyre not going to let you skin them alive no matter how much they trust you. and just in case the animal in question in this video was “drugged” into submission remember drugs cost more than bullets.

  • sam says:

those people suck for wearing fur if peta sended them video’s of animal’s being skinned for fur and those people don’t care but steal wearing fur! who gives a shit those so called celebrities don’t deserve respect heck animal’s can’t get respect! it’s just easy to say those celebrities have no right’s. btw PETA ROCKS!!

  • miriam says:

“Animals are not ours to use anymore than any people of a different colour of skinreligion or child is there to be exploited by ANYBODY. Get the point?!” I have to say.. we are not the same as animals… how can you compare an animal with some person with a “different colour of skin” what the hell is that supose to mean…and yes animal were put on earth for humane to eat and cover they bodies… what do you think the clothes were made back then??? if u guys dont like fur ok.. just dont use it… but live alone the ppl who likes it …

  • Zoey says:

wow. i completely agree wearing animals is wrong but y r u blaimg celebs? others wear fur everyday so y dont we go around photographing them for this list??

  • Nicci says:

I watched this video on another website. It was very hard to watch. I don’t see why they don’t just kill the animals before skinning. What torture! I don’t have dogs or cats as pets but it still makes me sick to realize that this is taking place.

  • Darya says:

It’s very sad actually that these people  have all the money in the world and so many choices available to them and yet they still choose cruelty. It’s not like these “stars” have been saving for years to buy their fur coats then found out how the fur gets made and regretted thier purchases but can’t afford to ditch their fur coats and buy something more humane because they went broke paying for those fur coats and now they are stuck with the duds. That is so not the case! These people can buy as many fabric fauxfur or pleather coats as they like…but they still choose not to. Okay if you don’t care about the animals think about all those starving children that you could feed probably for a year for the same amount of money that you paid for your fur coat. Wearing fur is not only the worst crime you can commit towards animals it is also offensive and disrespectful to people…there are so many people who can’t afford to buy food or medication.

  • Natalya says:

Am I the only one who actually LOL’dPeta’s comments on furwearing celebs? I thought those comments were pretty funny actually. This is what those celebs get for being so inconsiderate and heartless. Fur is not a necessity in any way it’s something you absolutely can and should do without…especially in LA where most of those celebs live. You can dress fabulously and look great without wearing fur or leather…

  • kris says:

I saw the documentary on HBO showing this video and have not been this disturbed in a long time. To see the man jumping on the animal’s head then watching the animal be skinned alive and watching it move afterward….I love horror movies but this is the absolute worst thing and couldn’t watch the documentary anymore. I could have gotten mad at PETA for showing such graphic content. But this really happens and fortunate people still choose to buy fur. I think showing those who buy fur this video would change them. Skinned alive! How awful. Shame on them and those who wear fur. My eyes are now open and see the point of why PETA wants to shock people. And those who defend it or think PETA’s wrong for being offensive to stars…please! The stars don’t deserve the empathy the animals do.

  • Heather says:

I agree with sonia huntingtrapping now days is a sport not a necessity. its all about getting the biggest buck. If people really hunted for the meat they would get the younger animals which don’t have big racks since their meat would be the most tender and best for eating. Its really just a thrill of the kill for them. Hunters say their helping the animals ya right if they cared they would give money to discover a better solution to the issue then to keep killing the animals year after year. The different states are also to blame since they seem to never want to budget research in the budget on how to control the population of the animals in more a human way. but why would they when they can make millions of dollars each year from sales taxes and other fees from hunting. I think they should put the native predators back where God put them in the first place. The people will just have to deal with it like they do in say Florida with crocodiles. That’s the problem with people they want to change the way God has things set up to make it the way they think will work better like killing off all the natural predators in an area . People need to realize God created and knows all things better then we could ever dream of knowing them

  • Heather says:

This is terrible that people can do this to a defenseless animal and not care. I Guess for China this sort of thing is not unusual they seem to like to torture peopleanimals Im not sure why. Some people say that people are over animal this is true But in return God expects us to treat his creation with respect and kindness this means not torturing animals to death. it makes it even worse when its for something so unnecessary. To the people who wrote the heartless responses you must be sick careless people.God will deal with you one day unless you stop being selfess and repent. God have mercy on you

  • laineyb says:

What always amazes me about people that rant and rave over someone wearing a fur coat is that these are usually the same folks that are so vocally proabortion. I think many people have their priorities just a little backwards.

  • Sebs says:

God…you people are CRAZY! If you can’t afford fur just shut up and let people enjo it! An animal is not a human being. We are their masters!

  • Apple says:

Why is it considered attractive to cut the fur off something an animalto wear yet natural human body hair especially for women is considered unnatractive anyway? As for the charity question try hitting up some of these ‘celebs’ for money. Instead of buying another fur coat or expensive piece of jewelry offer a list of worthy causes. Since so many have double incomes from musicacting careers as well as clothing lines etc it shouldn’t hurt their pocketbooks. Many companies are also happy to give them free products or pay for endorsements so why spend money on similar items anyway?

  • amber says:

first beckie we don’t need fur to keep warm anymore. back in the pioneer times when they didn’t have central heating they needed fur. and even the pioneers KILLED the animals before they skinned them. and if you didn’t view the video thread above well maybe you should and see that poor skinned raccoon trying to lift its head. no living thing deserves to be tortured.

  • john rice says:

you have to remember the things killing the animals in the video are infact subhumans this means they are at the bottom of the food chainalso the hunterstrappers saying they respect the animals they killtorture could say the same thing about tne nazis and jews…mmmm has a diffrent ring now doesnt it.good luck PETA. vodkajonny.

  • Liam Hix says:

I am wanting to join PETA because i think it is disgusting the way animals are treated. I think some people forget that humans are animals too. that would be like hanging one of them up and skinning them alive. or slitting one of YOUR throats and send you to a dinner table somewhere. i have seen all the videos and they just make me SICK!!!!!!!

  • Christine says:

allie.. i believe it was actually “beckie” that made that post not tom.. anyhow i agree with you…… this beckie is a total idiot.. just a little info for you becky.. those so called “natural” furs… have more chemicals in them then other fabrics.. making a fur coat or watever is bad for the animals and the dam environment.. how do you think those coats stay in tact? and just cuz the law says an animal is a possesion.. doesnt mean thats true.. any MORON knows that an animal is a living creature not a material possesion… i have a feeling a dog bit you in the ass when you were a kid.. maybe that’s where all this bitter talk is coming from.. btw on a side note.. sharon stone needs to be 1 on the 07 list.. the year isnt even over and ive seen her in fur sooo many times.. plus she just went on a fur shopping spree… old hag

  • Allie says:

TOM you are an braindead moron and i hope someone skins you alive to wear your ugly hide on their body in an attempt to “keep warm”. people are fine without wearing animal skins you hick. im sure you wouldnt have the money to spend on buying fur coats etc anyway u have done fine without them and so has the rest of the moral holding world. so just shut up noone cares what scum like you has to say. As for those stupid skinny stars they deserve it. GET OVER youself. no one cares about you ok. you are all pathetic attention seeking whores. get a life.
