‘Cows’ Call ‘Bull’ on Dairy Convention

Written by PETA | September 22, 2011

PETA’s band of bovines had Georgia on their minds when dairy farmers and suppliers brought their propaganda-filled displays to the International Dairy Show in Atlanta.

Our “cows” told passersby what the dairy farmers wouldn’t—that cows are continually impregnated in order to force them to keep producing milk and that their babies are taken from them within days or even hours of birth. Many male calves are sent to veal crates, while females are sentenced to the same fate as their mothers.

Considering the plethora of delicious nondairy milks available, it’s easy to have our milk and save cows too.

Which cow-friendly milk gets your (and your cookie’s) vote?

Do you know that sesame seeds contain 10x more calcium than cows milk? Cow’s milk is pasteurised which alters its chemical composition and makes it acidic and thereby causes osteoporosis as calcium is then leached from your bones in order to restore the ph in your body(make it alkaline). Food for thought..

We take the male cows’ milk. They are forced from their mothers and slaughtered (ecocalves too). Cows are inseminated to calve and continually give milk. No other animal does this, and neither did the stone age man. Calcium is there in plenty of other things, one just has to read and re-educate onself. Search internet on the word ‘vegan’ for great recipes. A huge amount of people are living vegan and doing extremely well. All one has to remember is to take vitamin B12 (vegan vitamins are available) and beans , lentils, nuts on a regular basis (for proteins). Human babies need milk as long as their own mothers give milk.

Peta, please listen. Most coconut milk, along with palm oil, comes from the destruction of the rain forest. Millions of acres of forest are cleared, animals are killed or left homeless, and the people there are mistreated and abused by the large companies. If you support coconut milk, then please make sure you know where it comes from. Once these rain forest animals are gone, we can’t get them back.

I would go with which ever is cheapest unless maybe there was some locally made stuff (unheard of).
