Ad Backfires on Experimenters

We're betting that when that shameless front for the cruel animal experimentation industry, the Foundation for Biomedical Research (FBR), started putting up a series of misleading and offensive billboards, it wasn't expecting them to get a makeover:

While daredevils have been giving FBR a piece of their minds, PETA has our own new – and more honest – ads which are going up in cities around the country.

the device implanted in the cat's skull is just a probe to read either single neurons' responses to certain stimuli, or the general response of the entire local region The brain cannot feel, so the animal is actually in no pain. They are anesthetized during the implant procedure, so again, they feel no pain. Unfortunately, since this animal has been irrevocably altered, it will be sacrificed at the end of the experiment. This is a reality of animal research - we are not allowed to let animals live if their physiology or chemistry has been significantly altered. Please, anyone, feel free to contact me with any questions as to why animal research is extremely beneficial to humankind, and as to why there are no other alternatives.

i have a strong belief that the animal should live. Animals can stop breeding if we keep eating and mistreating them til death. but i dont see other humans eating humans therefore we can keep producing more humans which i have no care for. Animals are here for a reason, not to be eaten, not to be beaten, or mistreated in anyway even if its an ant. People who put up signs back to get back at the people posting them is sick minded. who in the world would think animal research is better? the messed up. please contact me if you agree with my thoughts or disagree. id like to hear your arguments.

Jackie, it's not about mind control. If you want to "know your enemy" you should definitely try to read up on the subject of neuroscience. You will see that there are hundreds of things which could be being studied using this cat that are much more noble than "mind control". The very notion that we're anywhere near being capable of mind control at the current time is absurd.

Kaikat, that image of the cat is very disturbing. I believe, from some science programs I've seen, it has something to do with mind control. I'm not sure, but there was a show about mice having those things in their head, and being remotely controlled to go through mazes and things. If you wonder why I'm watching such horrible stuff, I believe in the idea that it's best to know your enemy. So this way I have some info on what they're actually doing, to make a informative statement about how wrong it is. I still think PETA should demonstrate at the children's hospital they mentioned that tests on animals, and let the children at the hospital know what they're doing. How are they going to explain themselves to thousands of crying children? The kids should know it's not their fault, but that they can demand change.

PETA CAN YOU PLEASE ADVISE WHAT EXPERIMENT IS BEING DONE TO THIS CAT? WHAT IS THAT STICKING INTO ITS HEAD? WHAT WAS DONE TO ITS EYE? WHAT COMPANY/LABORATORY DID THIS? DID THIS CAT GET RESCUED? PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I WANT TO WRITE TO THE COMPANY! THANKS

it is becoming EZ to see animal research cant work. (MRMCMED.ORG humaneseal.org) just look at the money (charities) spent. every year charities spend 100s of millions of dollars on animal research. STILL no cure, how many more millions (Billions??) before they stop being so GULLIBLE.. and stop this INSANITY.. do they STILL believe the world is flat? and get this!.. susan g. komen LIED to her dying sister by telling her she would do all she could to beat cancer. doesnt that also sound like talking to peta if not others (mrmcmed.org) of ALL the times a person would want to hear from the other side of animal research THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE TIME.. but not susan. animal research has NEVER been validated (pcrm.org). "there is a laundry list of problems with mouse models of cancer research" dr.bob weinburg, director of the ludwig center for cancer research at m.i.t.

I love how many folks who support PETA have had more cosmetic surgery than any other folks would have in their life time. I am sure pigs had suffered a great deal with a breast implant sticking out of and exploding in their bodies so people can have them for strictly esthetic purposes. No one can claim they have not had family, friends or themselves benefit from medical animal testing.
