It's official: The European Union doesn't want to import the pelts—or any other parts—of slaughtered baby seals. Compassion has won out, and the EU's historic ban on the sale of seal-derived products will remain in place, despite the seal slaughterers' last-ditch attempt to stop it.
With basically an entire continent and countless kind people around the world boycotting products that come from bashed baby seals, we hope that Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper will finally realize that the seal slaughter is both inhumane and unprofitable. Let's encourage him to finally put an end to Canada's shameful seal slaughter!

Wonderful news!! Let's keep the pressure on those in Saskatchewan to abolish this bloody practice!
GREAT NEWS. Progress is good. :)
I'm Canadian, and proud... but this is the first time I haven't been. I don't think many people actually think about this, or talk about it in Canada, or else some of us would have definitely started a protest.
its taken soo long and soo many little creatures have suffered unimagineable pain at the hands of 'hu'man kind..thats the wrong word here but you know what im getting at.. but finally the world is beginning to understand that the wiping out of animals is having a disasterous effect on the world its self. we have to live in harmony with plants and animals coz if we dont... when it all comes to an end who will we blame for it all going wrong?
Thank you every body who fought for this, I love you!!! And I really love the seals, thank god something good happened for the animals today(-:
This is great to see! Finally some humanity has been brought back to the world.
Treat animals like your children !
I am so happy, it's a very good news.
Thanks for all of theese little sweet angels .
THANK-YOU!!!!!
