Look out, animal abusers! The Trump administration has announced the formation of a federal ‘strike force’ that will put dedicated U.S. attorneys in every state to crack down on cruelty to animals. PETA is thanking the administration for making this big move to protect animals nationwide.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the big news, noting that the Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Health and Human Services will coordinate actions targeting dogfighting and puppy mills.

Prosecutors and law enforcement will be empowered with specialized training, equipping them to unleash justice and take down animal abusers.

You Can Help!

  • Never buy animals from puppy mills, breeders, or pet stores. These cruel businesses keep operating only because people continue to give them money. If you’re prepared to care for an animal properly and for a lifetime, adopt from a shelter.
  • Never be silent if you witness or suspect abuse. Animal abuse is strongly correlated with interpersonal violence. Research shows that murderers often hurt and kill animals before victimizing their fellow humans and that domestic abuse and cruelty to animals are strongly correlated.

Note: PETA supports animal rights, opposes all forms of animal exploitation, and educates the public on those issues. PETA does not directly or indirectly participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office or any political party.
