Norfolk, Va. – Happy National Dog Day! In honor of the special occasion, PETA has released a new video showing Miki—a dog who stayed at our shelter for a few weeks, receiving specialized care and patiently awaiting a new home—enjoying an epic day out on the town.

Miki’s day out included a stroller ride to the park, a meet-and-greet with a group of local kids, and “puppuccinos” with a friend. And as the video reveals, her special day was just the start of her new life—soon after, she was adopted by a loving new guardian who will make sure that every day is an adventure for her!

“Miki’s sweet story is a reminder for all of us to treat animals how we want to be treated,” says PETA Senior Vice President of Cruelty Investigations Daphna Nachminovitch. “PETA encourages anyone who’s ready to provide an animal with a lifelong home to consider visiting their local shelter, where dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds are waiting for the right family to come along.”

More information about PETA’s work to help dogs and cats is available here, and more photos of Miki are available on PETA’s blog.
