Baltimore – Oriole Park at Camden Yards earned the number eight ranking on PETA’s Top 10 Vegan-Friendly Ballparks list for its variety of veggie wraps and cruelty-free twists on fan favorites such as hearty veggie dogs and burgers.

“The O’s have gone to bat for animals and compassionate baseball fans alike,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “Oriole Park will have vegans singing for its variety of animal-friendly options that have earned it a coveted spot on PETA’s list.”

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—notes that going vegan would afford baseball players and their fans the time to enjoy more ballgames, since eating meat and other animal-derived foods has been conclusively linked to a higher risk of suffering from heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, and cancer. In addition, every vegan saves more than 100 animals a year from a terrifying death in today’s industrialized meat, egg, and dairy industries.

Oriole Park will receive a framed certificate from PETA. To view the complete rankings, please see PETA’s blog post about its list of the 2017 Top 10 Vegan-Friendly Ballparks.
