PETA India Gifts 10th Temple Mechanical Jumbo

Meet Devi Dasan, the 10th mechanical elephant PETA India has donated to a temple for a commitment never to own or hire live animals.

Sponsored by Action for Elephants UK and presented by renowned actor Parvati Nair (pictured above), Devi Dasan was welcomed with a celebration, a ceremonial dance, and calls from religious leaders for every temple to follow suit to stop elephants from being chained and beaten and worshippers from being injured or killed when stress-crazed pachyderms lash out.

Sir Paul Helps Us Persuade Peet’s Coffee to Drop Vegan Upcharge

Billboard with text reading Sir Paul to Peet's: Please, End the Plant Milk Surcharge

Coffee chains here, there, and everywhere dropped their unfair upcharges that have deterred people from choosing humane, ecofriendly plant milks. Dunkin’ – the world’s second-largest coffee chain – decided “We can work it out!” after hearing from tens of thousands of PETA supporters. Peet’s Coffee agreed to come together with Starbucks in ending its fee after receiving a personal appeal from Sir Paul McCartney and just two days after PETA’s campaign launch. And PETA UK’s efforts were enough to convince Gail’s to drop its upcharge, too. Tell The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to stop charging more for plant milks yesterday.

¡VIVA MEXICO CITY! Nation’s Capital Bans Bull Torture

PETA Latino sent a huge gracias to the Congress of Mexico City after it voted to abolish the torture and killing of bulls, effectively outlawing bullfights in Mexico’s capital. PETA Latino’s hard-hitting Mexico Without Bullfighting campaign, as part of the coalition Mexico Sin Toreo, includes ads featuring Mexican stars Kate Del Castillo, Sherlyn, Dulce, Sofía Sisniega, María Celeste Arrarás, and Michelle Renaud and will continue until no active bullrings exist in the country. Please help by asking the Vatican to stop blessing and start condemning bullfighting.

Argentinian Star: Lettuce Respect Animals

peta latino ad with florencia torrente

As a star of Disney’s Los MacAnimals – a comedy series about other animals who’ve been turned into humans – Florencia Torrente knows how we really are the same in every important way. Her respect for other species, including her “pretty large family” of adopted dogs and cats, inspired her to embrace an animal-free diet and to team up with PETA Latino to let everyone know that “it will make you bloom.” Grab your free vegan starter kit now.

DIY a Hermès Birkin Bag (‘Dismember It Yourself’)

PETA’s Hermès DIY bag spoof video shows the real cost of reptile skin. You’ll need a stitching awl, a knife, a screwdriver, and, of course, a 3-year-old crocodile. PETA’s influencer explains how to do the rest, including plunging the knife into the base of your crocodile’s head and the screwdriver into their brain and spine before skinning them – just as our undercover investigations have shown that Hermès’ suppliers do. Apply some glue and thread, et voilà! Share the viral spot widely, madly, to encourage others to let all animals keep their skin.

Big Win for Tiny Animals: Taiwan Ends ‘Bone Health’ Test

three white mice

Following pressure from PETA and more than 28,000 of our supporters, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) removed its recommendation that companies conduct tests on animals in order to claim that their products promote bone health. The TFDA previously advised that experimenters cut out the ovaries of mice, rats, or hamsters; feed the animals a calcium-deficient diet to induce osteoporosis; then feed or force-feed them the test product before killing and dissecting them. Help us end more ghastly, frivolous tests.

Bubble Space Releases Brilliant Anti-Speciesism Anthem

UK band Bubble Space released its powerful first single, “Animals,” and an accompanying video that reveals what would happen if humans traded places with other species. Beagles become experimenters, cows take mothers’ newborn babies and milk, and a husky drives a man to pull his sled in a striking rebuke of the Iditarod. 2025’s race saw more than 180 dogs pulled from the trail due to exhaustion, illness, injury, or other causes and the death of a pregnant dog named Ventana, spurring a PETA complaint to law enforcement and a full-page ad in Alaska’s Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. Watch the video above and pass it on.

PETA India’s Ice Queen Offers Frosty Vegan Treats in Sweltering Heat

As scorching heat turned India into an oven, PETA India’s “Ice Queen” helped chill people out with award-winning Keventers vegan ice cream. As people lined up to cool down, they heard how meat and dairy are greenhouse gas gushers – and that the best way to beat the heat is to choose vegan. Bella Ramsey: Don’t Let This Be The Last of Us – Wear Vegan

hollywood reporter cover with bella thorne

The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey knows something about a post-apocalyptic world. And with animal agriculture fueling the climate catastrophe and threatening a real-life doomsday, Bella appeared on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Sustainability Issue” in a stylish, eco-friendly vegan look designed in collaboration with PETA UK. “The work PETA does is invaluable,” stated the star. “They’re helping to create a world in which all creatures are treated with the kindness and respect they deserve.” Check out more animal-friendly apparel here.

‘Superdad’ Alec Baldwin Narrates Endearing Children’s Story

Alec Baldwin

He’s one of Hollywood’s most recognizable voices, a longtime PETA supporter, and a father of eight. And now, Alec Baldwin is the captivating narrator behind the audio version of PETA’s popular children’s book Harvey and the Lightning Herd.

Baldwin, who brings to life the true story of one woman’s friendship with an injured calf and her determination to rescue him, also donated copies of the book to public libraries in New York. Get copies for yourself and your local library.

Airbnb, Marriott Reject Animal Misery at the Pyramids

Following PETA Asia’s investigations showing rampant abuse of horses and camels used for rides and for photo ops at Egypt’s top destinations – the latest revealing sick, injured, and starving animals left to die behind the pyramids at Giza – Airbnb and Marriott International stopped offering Giza animal encounters. Audley Travel and Exodus Adventure Travels also axed promos for animal rides in Egypt, and AllTrippers, TravelLocal, Affordable Luxury Travel, and others ended camel ride pitches. Going on vacation? Tell travel agencies that you don’t want any animal rides on your itinerary. And help us get animals out of Egypt’s tourism industry.

Dylan McDermott: ‘A Street Dog Will Love You Forever’

What does FBI: Most Wanted star Dylan McDermott want most? To end animal homelessness! In PETA’s new campaign, the Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee branches out from his usual serious roles to show his soft (and silly!) side alongside his rescued pal, Otis. In an accompanying video spot, McDermott shares the story of going to a shelter to adopt Otis, who was badly injured after being hit by a car, calling it “the greatest day of my life.” Share the howling good video, and tell everyone: Adopt, don’t shop!

Animal Protection Bills Become Virginia Law

two baboons

Following efforts from PETA and supporters across Virginia, the state passed two commonsense laws that will make laboratories that use animals more accountable to the public. The first requires publicly funded facilities to make available any notice of an alleged violation or complaint. The second specifies that laboratories must give primates a chance to retire to accredited sanctuaries when experimenters are done with them, instead of automatically killing them. Take action for olive baboons used in gruesome, deadly experiments at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Demonstrators holding a banner in front of a giant pigeon statue with text reading Pigeons: Great parents, war heroes, smart and resourceful. Respect!

PETA unfurled this sky-high message just underneath Dinosaur – a wonderful statue of a noble pigeon in New York – to encourage passersby to peacefully coexist with these often-maligned birds.

Artist Iván Argote, who created the sculpture, says of people who dislike pigeons, “They don’t see them, they don’t watch them, they don’t understand them.” We also perched a pro-pigeon billboard in Times Square. Find tips on living in harmony with smart, social pigeons.
