Who can resist the perfect combination of chocolate and hazelnuts? The answer is no one. While the original flavor of Nutella contains whey and skim milk—which means it’s unkind to bovines—a new, vegan Nutella flavor will be hitting shelves in the U.S. soon.

Everything You Need to Know About Vegan Nutella

The Ferrero brand launched a vegan version, Nutella Plant-Based, in Europe in 2024, but it hasn’t made its way across the Atlantic yet—but don’t despair! For the first time in more than 60 years, a new Nutella recipe is launching in the U.S., and this one is vegan!

Instead of using milk taken from mother cows, this new recipe relies on peanuts’ creamy, protein-rich goodness. Nutella Peanut is expected to hit shelves in Spring 2026, but don’t worry. For now, there are plenty of chocolaty vegan spreads on the market that are just as yummy as they are kind to cows:
