Moe’s Southwest Grill

All tacos, fajitas, salads, and burritos at Moe’s can be made vegan by substituting tofu for meat and skipping the cheese!

Tocaya Organica

With locations in Southern California and Arizona, this chain has multiple burrito options that are either vegan by default or can easily be made so with a few swaps. Check out its two dairy-free cheese options—vegan mozzarella and vegan jalapeño jack—and be sure to pick the Vegan Picadillo or Adobo Tofu as your protein.

  • Breakfast Burrito: Order it with tofu instead of scrambled eggs. It comes packed with sweet potato bravas, black beans, and pico de gallo, all served in a wheat tortilla.
  • The Fajita Burrito: Full of sautéed poblano peppers and onions in a sweet chipotle sauce, this option comes with cilantro lime rice, black beans, vegan chipotle crema, guacamole, and pico de gallo. It’s wrapped in a jalapeño tortilla.

Ask to see the vegan/vegetarian menu at this chain with 158 restaurants in 32 states, Puerto Rico, and Asia. The Vegan Burrito comes in a flour tortilla and is stuffed with French fries, black beans, pico de gallo, red bell pepper, red onion, corn, and avocado—all highlighted by a chimichurri sauce.

Chipotle

Chipotle offers Sofritas—organic tofu braised with peppers and spices—which you can order in a bowl, burrito, taco, or salad. You have the option of black or pinto beans and brown or white rice. Plus, the restaurant has a great selection of vegan toppings, including mixed fajita veggies, salsas, lettuce, and guacamole.

Poquito Más

Order the traditional vegetarian burrito, and hold the cheese.

Taco Bueno

Order the black bean burrito—with no dairy toppings (obviously)—and add guacamole.

El Pollo Loco

At El Pollo Loco, you can get the BRC Burrito without cheese for a vegan option or order it as a bowl. You can also swap avocado for meat. Vegan side dishes include pinto beans and corn on the cob.

Cafe Rio

Order a custom burrito with black or pinto beans, veggies, guacamole, and your choice of salsa.

Taco John’s

Chuy’s

Rubio’s Coastal Grill

Order the Grilled Veggie Burrito without dairy toppings. You can add guacamole and either citrus or Mexican rice.

Qdoba

At Qdoba, you can make a burrito, taco, or salad bowl with the following vegan ingredients: corn or flour tortillas, black or pinto beans, brown or cilantro-lime rice, fajita vegetables, grilled vegetables, potatoes, guacamole, and most salsas (ask which options are vegan!). Chevys Fresh Mex

Order the Mesquite-Grilled Veggie Burrito without cheese. Vegan toppings include beans, rice, green beans, broccoli, guacamole, salsa, chips, zucchini, peppers, onions, lettuce, and tomato. Double-check to make sure that the tortillas aren’t prepared with lard—you can order a burrito bowl instead if they are. 

Willy’s Mexicana Grill

Order the Sinaloa Tofu Burrito or a veggie burrito, and be sure to hold the cheese. 

Dos Toros

Laughing Planet
