Ethical Décor: Down-Free Decorative Pillows

Published by Ashley Palmer.

Are pillows vegan? Some pillows are made with or filled with animal parts such as down feathers. The coldhearted and cruel down industry often plucks geese alive in order to steal their down—the soft layer of feathers closest to a bird’s skin. Try pillows that use non-animal materials instead! Look for fabrics such as polyester or cotton, and avoid down, wool and suede.
