§ 97.20 LICENSE AND TAX REQUIRED.
(A) Any owner of a dog over the age of 6 months within the municipality shall, within 30 days after acquisition of the dog, acquire a license for the dog annually by or before the May 1 of each year. Licenses shall be issued by the City Clerk upon payment of a license tax in the amount established by the governing body, plus the $1.25 fee required under Neb. RS 54-603(3). It shall be unlawful for the owner of a dog to wrongfully and knowingly license an unspayed female dog as a male or spayed female dog if the governing body has established different license taxes for such dogs.
§ 97.23 WRONGFUL LICENSING.
It shall be unlawful for the owner, keeper, or harborer of any dog to permit or allow the dog to wear any license, metallic tag, or other municipal identification than that issued by the City Clerk for dogs, nor shall the owner, keeper, or harborer wrongfully and knowingly license an unneutered dog with a license prescribed for a neutered dog.
§ 97.38 KENNEL DEFINED.
For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.

KENNEL. Includes any establishment for the raising, training, boarding, or selling of dogs, cats, birds, mice, rats, or other small animals for hire or profit.
§ 97.39 KENNEL; LICENSE REQUIRED.
It shall be unlawful to operate a kennel anywhere in the city or the 1 mile zoning jurisdiction of the city without first securing a permit from the City Planning Commission and a license from the Municipal Clerk. The party seeking the permit and license shall make written application to the City Planning Commission. In the event the Planning Commission shall allow the kennel to exist within the zoning limits of the city, it shall set forth whatever regulations for the kennel it deems appropriate. The permit and license shall be on an annual basis and may be revoked for violation of the standards and regulations set forth by the City Planning Commission after due notice and hearing to the kennel owner or operator. The annual fee for the kennel license shall be $100.
