Sec. 10-35. – Licensing.

(a) Required. The owner or custodian of any animal over the age of four months shall be required to purchase a City of Valley Animal License, but if the animal is under the age of one year the owner will not be required to have the animal spade or neutered until it is at least one year old. The first year of the animal’s life the fee for a license shall be $10.00. If the animal has not been spade or neutered upon the renewal date the following year, the animal license shall be $25.00 for the second year. Thereafter the renewal shall be $5.00 per year, but if the owner is 65 or older or a duly certified disabled person the renewal fee shall be $2.50.

(f) Proof of neutering or spaying. Before a city license may be issued for the lower fee for an animal which has been spayed or neutered, the owner or custodian of such animal shall provide evidence that the animal has been spayed or neutered. The form shall state the name of the doctor or veterinarian who performed the operation, the name of the clinic where such operation was performed, the street address of such licensed veterinarian or clinic, the telephone number, the precise or appropriate date when the operation was performed, and sufficient description of the animal.
