6.08.030 – License-Fees-Contents.

A. The owner or person keeping, harboring or having in charge any dog within the municipality shall, before the first day of January of each year, make application to the city clerk and pay a license fee in the sum of five dollars for each male dog; ten dollars as a license on each female dog; and the sum of five dollars for each spayed female dog, providing that the owner thereof shall present to and file with the city clerk at the time of securing said license, a certificate of a licensed veterinarian that the dog is a spayed female dog. Upon payment of said fee, it shall be the duty of the clerk to issue a license to said person bearing the same number as the number to be worn on the collar of the dog as provided in this chapter. The license shall give the date of issue, the date of expiration, the amount paid, the name and address of the person to whom issued, the name and sex of the dog. The city clerk shall furnish with each license a metal tag which shall be stamped with the number to correspond with the number of the license and the year for which issued. In case a dog is brought within the corporate limits within the license year herein designated, the owner or person having such a dog in charge shall pay the same amount as herein specified, and the clerk shall thereupon issue a license as in other cases. It is unlawful for anyone to make a false statement in said application for said license; provided, however, that the provisions of this paragraph shall not apply to any person visiting in the city for a period not to exceed thirty days and owning or possessing a dog currently licensed and bearing the license issued by another licensing authority.

C. At the time of licensing such pet, the owner shall provide the city clerk with proof of vaccinations and proof of spaying and neutering.
