§ 7.16.060 Altered animals.

A. An “altered animal” is defined as one who has been certified by a veterinarian to be sterilized by surgical spay or neuter.

B. For certified altered dogs and/or cats, the owner shall pay one-half the standard license fee and any applicable penalty fees. Proof of sterilization must accompany the initial dog and/or cat license application or the first dog and/or cat license renewal notice following alteration.

C. The following documents are acceptable as proof of alteration: a certificate of sterilization; an invoice from the office or clinic of a veterinarian for a sterilization procedure; a dog and/or cat license from another licensing agency showing altered status; or the adoption certificate from an animal shelter or humane society showing altered status.
