§ 95.29 DOGS AND CATS: LICENSE REQUIRED.

It shall be unlawful for any person to own or harbor any dog or cat in the city without having first obtained a license or appropriate permit therefor by application to the City Clerk/Treasurer. Only persons who comply with the provisions of this chapter shall be entitled to receive and retain such license.

§ 95.32 LICENSE FEE.

(A)       (1) The license for any dog or cat shall expire on December 31 following the date of its issuance. The annual license fee is payable within the first two months of the calendar year or within one week after the date on which such dog or cat is acquired, whichever is later. The annual license fee for each dog or cat is as follows:

(a) Sexually altered dog or cat: $5;

(b) Unaltered dog or cat: $15.

(2) An additional annual fee of $1.25 per license shall also be charged. The city shall retain $.03 of the fee collected for administrative costs and the balance shall be paid to the State Treasurer for the Commercial Dog and Cat Operator Inspection Program Cash Fund as required by law.
