9-2-25: CANINE ADOPTION:

B.   Additional Fees: In order to adopt an animal, a person must also pay the following additional fees:

1.   Thirty dollars ($30.00) spay/neuter voucher; cost for senior citizens is twenty dollars ($20.00);

C.   Required Spay/Neuter Voucher To Ensure Sterilization: Any person acquiring a canine from the animal control shelter shall be required to purchase a twenty five dollar ($25.00) spay/neuter voucher to be redeemed at any participating veterinarian in partial payment for the surgical procedure of spaying a female animal or the neutering of a male animal. Each voucher will display an expiration date determined as follows:

1.   If the animal adopted is under six (6) months of age, the voucher will expire on the last day of the month the animal reaches six (6) months of age;

2.   If the animal adopted is over six (6) months of age, the voucher will expire at the end of thirty (30) days from the time of adoption.
