6.04.120 – Licensing.

A. Any person owning, possessing or harboring any dog or cat shall obtain a license for such animal within thirty days after the animal reaches the age of three months; or in the case of an animal over three months, within ten days of the acquisition of the animal.

B. License fees, to be determined by the Board of Trustees, shall be paid annually to the Town Treasurer. All dog or cat licenses issued hereunder shall expire May 1st of each year and the full amount shall be paid for any fraction of the licensing year. Upon collection of the license fee and receipt of a current rabies vaccination certificate, the Treasurer shall issue a license certificate and license tag to the owner of the dog or cat, and retain a record thereof. A dog or cat will not be licensed as spayed or neutered without proof that such surgery was performed. License fees shall be waived for dogs serving the blind or deaf or dogs used for law enforcement. All other licensing provisions shall apply.
