§ 105-1 Definitions.
For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:

KENNEL
Any establishment or premises wherein or whereon the business of boarding or selling dogs, cats or other animals or the breeding of dogs, cats or other animals or the keeping of five or more dogs, cats or other animals is conducted, except a pet shop.
§ 105-4 License required.
Any person who shall own, keep or harbor a dog, which dog has attained the age of seven months or possesses a set of permanent teeth, shall cause the same to be licensed, such license to be obtained as herein provided. Applications for a license shall be made within 10 days of acquisition of a dog required to be licensed.
Article IV Kennels, Pet Shops and Animal Hospitals
§ 105-21 License required.
No person shall operate a kennel, pet shop or an animal hospital without having first obtained a license therefor from the Division of Health.
§ 105-22 Application.
All applications for licenses shall be made at the Office of the Division of Health during regular office hours, and the fees for every license or permit shall be paid in advance at the time of making the application therefor.
§ 105-46 License required.
A. Cats must have a license number displayed. Any owner of a cat of licensing age shall apply for and procure from the Village Department of Health or other official designated by the Village Manager a license for each cat owned, except as provided below. The license number shall be displayed on any licensed cat. Acceptable methods of displaying the license number shall include, but are not limited to, an official license tag or sleeve securely affixed to a breakaway or elastic collar. License tags or sleeves are not transferable. If a cat is tattooed with the owner’s social security number plus a letter uniquely identifying such cat and such identifying tattoo is listed on the license application and vaccine certificate, then no license number need be displayed.
§ 145-6 Enumeration of fees relating to Code chapters.
The following schedule of fees is hereby established with respect to licenses, permits and activities required or regulated under the provisions of various chapters of the Code of the Village of Ridgewood. Applications for and the issuance of such licenses and permits shall be subject to the provisions of the specific chapter of the Code which is indicated for each type of license or permit. The business, activity or operation for which the license or permit is required shall be subject to all regulations set forth in the chapter to which reference is made. These fees may be adopted or revised by ordinance of the Village Council from time to time.
